“WHITE LIES” NOMINATED – IRISH ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2008!

We are delighted to announce that “White Lies” has been included in the shortlist of ten Irish albums for the Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of the Year 2008.

The Choice Music Prize was established to highlight those albums which deserve some extra time in the spotlight and, ultimately, to select the album which best sums up the year in Irish music.  Each year, a panel consisting of twelve media professionals (representing Irish print, radio and TV) select the Choice Music Prize shortlist.  Instead of using sales or airplay as criteria, the Choice Music Prize judges focus, simply and solely, on the music.  The first Choice Music Prize was won by Julie Feeney for her 2005 debut album, “13 Songs”.  The Divine Comedy’s “Victory for the Cosmic Muse” won the Irish Album of the Year award in 2006, and Super Extra Bonus Party’s self-titled debut album won the Choice Music Prize for 2007.

The Choice Music Prize live event will take place at Dublin’s Vicar Street on March 4, 2009.  Tickets for the event go on sale on January 19 from all Ticketmaster outlets (www.ticketmaster.ie), priced at €27 (including booking fee).

The full list of bands playing at the live event will be be announced in the coming weeks. For more information about the live event, including the names of all nominees, go here:  www.choicemusicprize.com.

And thanks to all the fans and friends who have purchased the CD, have come to the shows, and who have sent in good luck wishes.

Congratulations and well done, Mick!
